Focus Interview
The focus interview took place with Tim, a 47 year old man. Outside of our main target audience, but within the niche market we want to cater to, we hoped for a good response when linkening our film to that of Kidulthood and Se7en Although straying off topic quite a lot through the interview, what we took was positive. The development of character, especially in the opening is what will set our film aside from the others of its type, and give it a sense of depth. This will help the audience to relate to the characters and actually make the film believable, something films like Se7en and Fight Club did very well.
What we also learned from the interview that this sort of age group, the more mature people don't need a god chase scene in order to make the film enjoyable. As Tim said, the whole car chase scene and things along those lines is over used and lost its charm, so for the pursiot scenes we wish to put a twist on the style - whether that be with the camera angle or the way we show the chase, there will be something different. Also, from the interview we see that the age group don't enjoy the mindless violence usually associated with the genre, and that is why with our film we have decided although there will be violence, it will not be the main focus of the film and instead focus on character and how the audience are going to build up a relationship with him.
