This week of editing in Final Cut was spent syncing music, changing from a fade of two separate non copyright songs to fading in one of them earlier and looping the main part of it. This was to link the two scenes together, as we felt that if we didn't they would be too disjointed and first time viewers would have little idea of the two scenes being related. We also changed the order of shots in regards to the tower scene and what led up to it. Shortening the panning shot inside the building's lobby and introducing a shot inside the elevator, as well as moving the panning/establishing long shot of the building earlier in the sequence. This was all to add depth to a lengthy progression of action shots and to allow us to cut our film opening in insignificant places (end of shots etc.)
Another major change that we made was of the brightness of individual clips in order to reflect the atmosphere in the individual clip. In the scene where Barney, or Kevin, answers the phone we decided to lower the lighting while inside the room compared to the light outside which was representative of his inner conflict. We also lowered the lighting of the last 10 seconds of the opening which emphasised the shadows and created a more tense, dangerous atmosphere.
